From St. Michael’s Staff, we wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas!
Retirements and Farewells
During a special assembly this morning, we enjoyed a whole school celebration of Mrs. Watson’s 40 years, and Mrs. Kenyon’s 21 years, as they retire from St. Michael’s School. Mrs. Halsey‘s years were also remembered by the children. They excelled in their presentation of memories, poems, songs and prayers for them all. They leave with our very best wishes for their future lives.
Thank you for your contributions during the Foundation Stage Nativities. We raised £105 for CLIC Sargent.
Twenty spare pizzas from the Movie Night fed the homeless at the ‘Loaves and Fishes’ in Cheadle on Sunday 14th December.
Thank you also for your donations to the food bank. These will be taken over to Church Croft for distribution to needy families.
Christmas Poem Award
Well done to Felicity Allen (Y5) who independently entered into a Christmas Creative Writing Competition. Felicity came in the top 50 with her entry which I am delighted to share with you all.
A Christmas Carol Twist
What if the name Ebenezer Scrooge had a very different meaning?
What if Scrooge had been loved when he was a child?
What if Scrooge had cared more about others?
What if he hadn’t made so much money?
What if he had married Belle?
What if he had spent more time with his nephew?
What if he had been kind to Bob Cratchit?
What if he had never met Marley and Marley?
The past made Scrooge selfish and cold on the inside and full of bitterness and greed.
Maybe if he had been loved and learnt to love he would have been a very different person …
Luckily, he learnt the true meaning of Christmas in time to make a change.
Christmas is love, kindness, friendship, truth, faith and hope. Maybe there are lots of Scrooges in our world right now…..
Let us learn from him and try to honour Christmas in our hearts, and try to keep it all the year.
Congratulations to four of our children, Kyle Rowe, Lewis Lynch, Amelia Reeves and Amber Watson for their recent achievement in obtaining a National Maths Award for their participation in a local Maths Challenge.
