MacMillan Coffee Morning – Friday 2nd October
I am delighted to report that the coffee morning raised £246 which will be matched by Lloyds bank. Thank
you to Mrs. Hilton, who works for Lloyds, for her efforts in promoting and co-ordinating this event. It was a
privilege to share the running of the event with the local community for such a worthwhile cause.
Kinetic Theatre
Thank you to the PTA for funding the dramatic production for the children on 1st October. Here is a comment
from Sacha Howard in Y6 to sum up the children’s appreciation of the afternoon.
“ I really enjoyed that performance, (probably because I like shows). It taught me all about molecules. It had humour,
and it was very enjoyable with our “buddies”. Me and my buddy learnt a lot about filtration, evaporation and molecules.
It was a fab show, some parts were a bit scary though. The actors were excellent and I love how they got the audience
involved as well.”
PTA
The PTA have requested that they also fund a “Lego Day” in May 2016, for the whole school, after test week.
They have also purchased a ‘friendship bench’ which will be decorated by children and situated at the rear of
school.
Many thanks to the PTA for their continuing support in developing the quality of educational experiences for
the children, together with enhancing the school environment. We look forward to Movie Night on 11th
December.
Crossing Patrol – Church Road
Following the retirement of John, our much respected and reliable ‘lollipop man’ we regret that his position
has not yet been filled. Trafford services have been disappointed by the response to their advertising of this
vacancy and would like to hear from any parent/grandparent/friend who might be interested in becoming a
crossing patrol person. (Please contact the school office.) In the meantime, I would appeal to all parents to
be aware of the current situation and request your assistance in overseeing children across Church Road in
safety. Thank you for your understanding.
