Newsletter 23 – Summer Term 2017
Wednesday 24th May
Dear Parents,
Firstly, many thanks to the P.T.A. for organising a fantastic Spring Fair which was so well supported by the families of St. Michael’s. We raised circa £800 which was a tremendous effort and we thank everyone who assisted in the preparation and running of the Fair.
The children have worked extremely hard this half term, culminating in SATS testing for years 6 and 2, and internal assessment testing in all other year groups. We are aware of the dedicated parental support of the children here at St. Michael’s and thank you for your continued effort and encouragement of their learning.
We are proud of our WRAP club and the facility it offers during before and after the school day. Miss Mathers and supporting staff have provided care, enthusiastic learning and play opportunities, together with excellent dietary provision to many children this half term.
We have offered a wide variation of after school activities, and where possible, have
been able to do so without parental contributions. Our school teams have participated in Tag Rugby, Dodgeball, Netball, Swimming and look forward to a forthcoming Rounders event.
Educational Visits have been well supported, thank you. Y6 will have their residential trip to Castleton in July and Years 1 and 2 have a planned visit to Formby.
Miss Siddle and Miss Wright will be completing their fixed term contracts in July and I would like to take this opportunity of thanking them on behalf of the Governors, staff, children and parents for their contribution to the school and wish them every success in their future careers.

A Drayton
