ICT

For those parents who are beginning to use our Abacus Maths Resource at home, access is recommended via Firefox, Google Chrome, or latest version of Internet Explorer. Just to let you know, we are trialling class Twitter accounts in Years 3, 5 and 6. These are closed accounts and only teachers and parents of the class will be allowed access to the feed. You will be encouraged to respond with positive comments. However, if there is something which concerns you we urge you to
approach us directly, without responding publicly. If you wish to follow us, please request this on Twitter and complete the attached slip to enable each class to verify each follower. It would be great to have everyone as we can send reminders of events, as well as providing you with a valuable insight into your
s exciting day in school. Please do not hesitate to contact the class teacher with any issues which might arise as we trial this social networking medium.

LABELLING OF SCHOOL UNIFORM AND OTHER ITEMS
Our immense collection of lost property has been sorted! All items found to be labelled have been returned to owners. However, we do have a collection of outer clothing, coats, jackets etc. which remain in school. If your family requires any spare coats or other items please call into school to see if what we have is of any
use. The items are bagged ready for our Bag2School collection and all unwanted clothing will be collected on 20th March.

BAG2SCHOOL
Collection bags will be sent home with the children on Monday 24th February. Bag2School will collect on Thursday 20th March at 9.00 a.m. Bag2School specialises in good quality second hand clothing that can be s clothing, soft toys, paired shoes, hats, belts and handbags (no bric-a-brac please). All Bags2School are weighed and the school receives payment according to the total weight collected. This revenue is very helpful to school and your support, as always, is much appreciated.

MOBILE PHONES IN SCHOOL
Mobile phone theft is currently the most frequent street crime and young children using a mobile phone on the way to, or from school, are consequently at risk. I am sure you will have discussed the safety issues s use of mobile phones, and understand the need for some older children to be
able to communicate their safety to parents. However, in consideration of the entire issue, I would request that parents return a signed letter explaining the need for their child to bring a phone to school. This will also help in making us aware of children having the responsibility of a mobile phone in school.

URGENT KIT REQUEST!
Having invested in football/netball kits for our school teams, only last year, we are disappointed that kits have become depleted. In an attempt to retrieve items, including blue football tops, yellow or black socks, navy blue PE skirts, we are requesting that you search at home for kit which might have been unintentionally put s to check their drawers! There will be a collection box in the school hall on Monday morning for anything found. Thank you for your help with this.
